The Battle of Frogs and Mice is a 5-star, interactive family show with LIVE music.
Using the hallmarks of the oral poetic tradition, the plot of our adaptation changes with every re-telling, while broadly following the key points of the original poem.
The prince of mice, Crumbsnatcher, meets Puffjaw, king of the frogs, and is accidentally drowned when Puffjaw offers to entertain him in his palace across the pond. The mice, on learning of the demise of their prince, wage war on the frogs.
The war ends after a single day of epic battle.
Three storytellers live-compose the story, using toy-props as puppets to represent the characters. They are in dialogue with two acoustic musicians, and all five performers riff off of each other to change the plot and interact with the audience. Audience members are invited on stage for dances, competitions and ultimately to take up arms for their chosen faction.
Who will you fight for, the frogs or the mice?
