The selkie is a seal who can shed its hide to reveal a beautiful woman beneath. Most stories of the selkie include her falling in love with a human who steals her hide when he learns the truth so that she can never return to the sea and must remain bound to him. Cut off from her one true love, she grows desperate until she either finds the hide or kills herself.

BEGINNINGS, a deliciously "disgusting" show for children and families! Influenced by Punch and Judy and slapstick ridiculousness, "Beginnings" tells the story of a wrinkly old man as he creates a world from everyday objects accompanied by a fantastically expressive drum kit.

Sorcery and Trance:
Join us at 7pm on Thursday 22nd February, for an evening of presentations and discussions that will explore the potential for the uses of trance, and of sorcery, in the psychoanalytic encounter.
Psychoanalysis could be described as merely another chapter in the history of trance, just as the psychoanalytic conception of the unconscious is simply one of many interpretations of the occult, namely that which is hidden from view. The talking cure shares much with mystical practices of mind control, but this is, undoubtedly, only half the story. The psychoanalyst is not simply the shaman, the magician, or the witch.

"‘Cacophony’ is one of those brilliantly bewildering shows.... A bonkers blend of mime (with vocalised sound effects), dance, sketches and a little mild audience participation, you’re never quite sure what the next blackout will bring. Over the course of 55 minutes, your feelings swiftly shift from confused, to bemused, to amused..... The elements combine to form a face-achingly funny whole." (Three Weeks)

This is the second in the Site's Post-Psychoanalysis series, following an event on Ecology (18.01.18) and before Sorcery & Trance (22.02.18)
